National Garden Scheme - Jacqueline Anthony, Assistant County Organiser for NGS has visited our society in the past. See the yellow leaflet for Kent or the large Yellow Book. If organising a trip to a different county you can contact the county organiser who can recommend gardens. Use the Garden Link on National Garden Scheme – put in details of area you are visiting to see gardens in that area.
Jacqueline showed us slides of beautiful gardens and here are some local(ish) suggestions: Hole Park, Knowle Hill Farm, Old Buckhurst (small garden with a nursery), Timbers, Goodnestone, Brickwall Cottages and Godinton. London Gardens – viewing private gardens which are normally smaller is a good way to see how gardeners use smaller spaces – search for “London” on National Garden Scheme . Special garden visits organised during Chelsea Week need to be booked in advance. Frogmore is usually open in May. Hampton Court has “behind the scenes tours” which need to be booked in advance. Again see National Garden Scheme
